Where we recreate the feeling of being surrounded by a whole village. Where we repair the support structures for families that have slowly been eroded by social isolation and hyper individualism. Where mothers are supported to thrive whilst staying connected with their babies. Where community members share their skills. Where we can be vulnerable whilst we lift each other up.

Our Weekly Offerings
Connect and Reflect
It’s Friday after a busy week. We need to reconnect with our kiddoes but we also just want some adult nourishment. We have the perfect solution! Meet us at Mycelium. We will spend the first hour playing attachment games with our children, We will focus on filling up their cups, deepening attunement and connection.
We will then find a way to engage the kids and create a short sharing circle to reflect on the week and receive support from other parents. An evening to fill everyone’s cups. Option to stay on for dinner
Art Club
Art Club is a series of workshops where your little one can be inspired, sing, create and play and get their creative juices flowing. Each session we will explore a theme and will provide structured art projects for children to work individually and together to create, express and connect with each other and themselves.
Throughout the term we will collaborate to create a selection of art works to be featured at the Mycelium Christmas market. Bring ideas, enthusiasm, snacks for your children and something to protect their clothes. Art materials will be included though a donation to the art fund is welcome!
Kids Yoga and Movement
Join us on Tuesday afternoons for a kids yoga and movement session. Sonya is trained in yoga and meditation and will be guiding our children through 30 minutes of mindful movement. She will be guiding our little ones through age appropriate yoga flows in a fun and engaging manner, while gently introducing the concepts of movement, relaxation and reflection.
Parents can join in, or have some time to themselves.
Seeds and Plants
Following the Yoga and Movement session, we will settle in for a session focused on the wonders of plants. We will be planting seeds and watching them grow, investigating the micro worlds found below the ground and the wonders of the mini beasts that help our plants along. At times we will be observing and drawing what we find, and other times, we will be looking through microscopes, getting our hands dirty and tending to the Mycelium Studios veggie patch.
Parents can join in, or have some time to themselves.
Aware Parenting Bush Circle
Join Marisa and Felicity as we meet at the log circle near the confluence of Edgar’s and Merri Creeks. We will begin with some quiet one-on-one time with our littlies in the bush followed by a sharing circle, where parents share challenges or successes. We draw on group wisdom and witnessing, and Felicity and Marisa will respond from an Aware Parenting* perspective. There is a great bush space for the older kids to play in, and the younger kids generally hang out in the log circle with the group. It can feel like the village is gathering together which brings a wonderful feeling of support.
*Aware Parenting is an approach to parenting which welcomes and listens to children’s feelings so they can feel calm, relaxed and free in their bodies.

Co-working
We know that dreams need gentle, ongoing tending. We want you to bring your gifts to the world. Yet time can be so elusive when we try to parent from the model of the nuclear family. We believe there is a different way. Opt in to our Mycelium Parents Co-working option. Use the Mycelium ‘Circle’ to share childminding. Find more time to bring your craft ideas to life, attend to your personal admin, work on your activism, or simply take time out. The possibilities in this space are endless.

Weekly Group Offerings
Tap into a group of like-minded parents and share what you have learned along the parenting journey. We have curated a schedule of weekly offerings including bush kinder, creative collaboration, movement and mediation for kids and pilates for mamas. We see our group evolving into a diverse yet intricately woven community with skill sharing at it’s centre. Furthermore, our children will feel a deep sense of belonging as they bond not only with each other, but also with other parent care-figures in the group.
Shared Child Care with the Mycelium ‘Circle’
Need to pay some bills? Finish up that craft project? Want to have a conversation without being interrupted? Launch a business? Hungover? No reason for needing time away from kiddos is too big or too small at the Parent Club. We will sign you up to the Mycelium ‘circle’ in the Komae app so you can get started requesting times right away. Earn points for minding other children. Spend those points on having your child minded.
Thoughtful Play Space
We have designed a beautiful and inspiring play space that will provide ample opportunity for developing social skills, fostering imagination, and building body intelligence. We have sourced wooden and nature based toys as well as plenty of craft materials and will continue to fill the space with inspiration from Steiner and Montessori’s wonderful approaches. The space will be used for children to play but also for mams to take time out replenishing, practising pilates, yoga or chillaxing.
Opt in for co-working as a Sun Member
There are some wonderful spaces within the Mycelium building and outside that you can roam, work, rest or play. There is a fully equipped kitchen, a cosy fireplace with comfy couches, plenty of desk space as well as a communal veggie garden if you feel like getting your hands dirty. Mycelium’s extra services also include a photo cyclorama, a music studio and a basement event space.
Pricing
The Parent Club is not for profit. Mycelium Studios is offering this service for the love. Any money that is left over after costs are covered will go back to the club for members to spend as they choose.

Can I See The Space?
Yes! If you want to check us out before signing up, we invite you to come to our Friday afternoon playgroup to meet Marisa, the founder who can chat with you about all things Parent Club. Feel free to jump into any of our sessions for a free trial to vibe out whether a membership will suit you and your family.
FAQs
Does the parent club require a permit?
No. As we are not making money from the club, and parents will be mostly on the same site as their children, we do not need a permit. We ask that if you do need to run errands offsite to negotiate with the others so that only one person is out at a time. We also ask that you remain in phone contact.
Do I have to use the co-working space/ shared childminding?
No. You do not need to opt in to the child minding/ use of the co-working space. If you do need time to rest, craft, catch up on life admin, gossip or lie in foetal, recovering from a million ‘why?’ questions you may like to consider our ‘Sun’ membership and start building a community of rad parents you can share childminding with.
Can my partner use the Parent Club too?
Yes! Each membership can be used by either parent or any other guardian of your child.
How long do I have to stay in the Parent Club?
We will sign you up to an ongoing monthly membership which you can opt out of at any time.
Does the Parent Club make money?
No. We are in it for the love, to build community, and to provide opportunities for time-poor parents to build their dreams. We hope the club will be incredibly empowering for its members. After we pay for our rent on the playroom and co-working space, any extra money will be held in trust for the Parent Club. Members will decide how this will be spent. Some examples include: toys or activities for the playroom, outdoor play equipment, children’s or parenting books, parenting workshops etc
What is the age range of children in the Parent Club?
We imagine that most of our parents will be using the parent club before school age. However, we don’t have a limit on age and any child can access the club. In fact we believe that multi age groups have their own kind of magic.
I have limited funds. Do you have any other payment options?
We invite you to talk with us about taking on a role at the Parent Club for reduced monthly payments.
I only want to use the Parent Club once per month
No problem! We have 3 tiers of usage- Sun Membership for high users, Moon Membership for medium users and Opal Membership for those rare but still valuable gems.
I already have a studio at Mycelium. Is there an option for me?
Yes! We have special pricing tier for those already in the Mycelium family.
I have mad skills I want to share

How does the shared childminding work?
We use the app ‘komae’. We will sign you up to the Mycelium ‘circle’ on the app. The app uses a points system. Each parent who is having their child minded will give points to the parent who is minding children. The app has a calendar and tallies the points for each user. Too easy! Get to know the community and expand your childcare options.
